To transform the lives of youth who come from disadvantaged families or communities by providing access to high quality educational opportunities and to mental health support so that they can pursue their full potential.
The Prosper Road Foundation was created in 2016 by David and Joan Evans in order to formalize our philanthropic activities and to create a vehicle by which the family could work together to promote a more equitable and just society.
Our driving force is a belief that education is a civil right and that ALL children deserve access to a high quality education. Because mental health is a critical component that can interfere with academic attainment, we also seek out organizations that improve access to mental health supports in schools.
We look for innovative organizations who have strong potential to scale up. Although we are based in Chicago, we fund programs promising programs across the country.
PRIORITY FUNDING AREAS:
- Access to and supports through college
- Access to quality programs in Early Childhood
- Access to evidenced based mental health support in schools
- Improvement of teacher training practices and licensure assessments
